Thin Line Film Fest is an international documentary film festival held in Denton, Texas - just north of the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex.
Thin Line Film Fest is the only documentary film festival in the State of Texas; but we're more than just your standard doc fest... We're Thin Line! Not only do we screen interesting and exciting traditional documentaries, but we also screen mockumentaries, docufictions, docudramas, and any other film that blurs the line between fact and fiction or that pushes the boundaries of the documentary genre! Each year, our program includes fictional documentaries. Is it fact or is it fiction? We won't tell.
In 2010, Thin Line will proudly screen 6 World Premieres, 3 US Premieres, 6 Southwest Premieres, and 20 Texas Premieres. In addition, we are thrilled to host sixe special feature films beginning with GASLAND and then followed by five films off the 2009 Oscar shortlist! In addition to world-class films, festival guests will enjoy a thought-provoking panel by Hollywood insider Bobette Busters; festival-sponsored parties; and more.
All of this is set in the historic downtown square of Denton, TX. Denton is a college town with two universities having a combined enrollment of 50,000+. The music scene is one of the best in Texas and there are plenty of places to sample the sounds within a block or two of the festival. Thin Line screens at two historic theaters (early 30's) located directly on the square and only one block apart! This makes Thin Line Film Fest truly one-of-a-kind.
